This beautiful cookbook contains over 90 recipes divided into three categories — share, care and enjoy. Recipes could be a meal for a family during treatment and the more difficult times, through to something indulgent to celebrate with a glass of bubbles when they receive good news. Look Good Feel Better patron Kerri-Anne Kennerley herself a breast cancer survivor has written the foreword for the cookbook.
The subject who is truly loyal to the Chief Magistrate will neither advise nor submit to arbitrary measures. Before the arrival of the Internet, before Gourmet magazine and The Galloping Gourmethome cooks got recipes from relatives, neighbours and friends, people they knew and trusted to have similar cooking skills or at least ones they could reasonably aspire to. Formulas for dips, casseroles and squares were transcribed onto cue cards and clipped from newspapers and often gathered and reprinted in community cookbooks.

Inthe Breast Friends, ten women from the small town of Foam Lake, Saskatchewan, came together to support each other after two personal losses to breast cancer. For this book, the Friends decided to partner with nutritionists at InspireHealth, a BC-based, non-profit integrative cancer care centre, and adapt their recipes to follow nutritional guidelines for the prevention of disease. A year and a half later, Breast Friends Inspire Health was born.
Acute care clients in the Sunrise Health Region received a special gift this Christmas. Cookbooks are also being gifted to clients receiving treatment in the Yorkton Regional Health Centre Chemotherapy Department between Christmas and January 15, Breast Friends is a group of ten women from Foam Lake, Saskatchewan, that has donated 1.
During the evening, Halyk praised the work of the Pirates, admitting that the success of the Breast Friends cookbooks was directly related to "grass roots causes" like the local Run for the Cure team. She said the books can be used by any organization to help raise money for their cancer-fighting cause. Halyk spoke to the plus crowd about the journey that she and her nine friends from Foam Lake have taken since they began writing and publishing their first cookbook over six years ago.
