In addition to presenting performing arts programs classicaljazz and popular music  as well as dance performances it offers a series of talks and conversations;  literary readings;  film screenings;  adult education;  schools for music, art and dance for children and adults;  professional development programs early childhood,  dance,   business  and fashion  ; family, parenting and children's activities and classes;  a nursery school; a senior center;  a fitness center including fitness classes and swim team ;  camps ;  a residence that rents rooms in the Y's main building at 92nd Street and Lexington Avenue;  Jewish education, cultural and community programs;  and educational outreach programs for public school children  among its programs. The organization serves aboutpeople annually in its New York facilities.
Children with learning and developmental disabilities thrive in Camp Tova's small group setting. Making friends and developing a wide variety of creative, social, and physical skills are the goals for Tova campers. Children travel to the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds in Rockland County on air-conditioned coach buses equipped with lavatories. They participate in a variety of camp activities, especially designed to foster each child's emotional, social, and physical growth.
The 92nd Street Y is a hybrid institution with the attributes of both a performing arts center and a college. The Young Men's Hebrew Association was founded in to assist immigrants. In the Y opened at its East 92nd Street location.
Applications should consist of maximum: 6 typed pages of poetry only one poem per page OR 15 pages of prose double-spaced. If application fees pose a barrier, please reach out to us via email. Please do not use a poetry submission for a prose class, or vice versa.

The 92nd Street Y is a microcosm of the great metropolis in which it was founded in - a place with an unwavering commitment to its local community and a reach well beyond the geographic boundaries of that community. Schiff, his son-in-law Felix M. Warburg and Judge Joseph M. Proskauer, the Y has been, from the start, a fusion of the culturally- and the community-minded.
